THE NAIRN GOLF CLUB TO BE SHOWCASED TO THE INDUSTRY’S BIG HITTERS

With more than 40,000 industry leaders from 74 countries in attendance, the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Merchandise Show is a global platform on which to showcase the Highlands’ best links courses and leading hotels.

Highland Golf Links (HGL) will be in Orlando, Florida, from 26-29 January to promote our outstanding location to an influential audience that includes PGA and LPGA professionals, tournament directors and organisers, coaches and shop owners and managers. It is one of the biggest international merchandise and golf tourism events of the year, offering major opportunities to promote the region and secure valuable business in a highly competitive market.

This year HGL, which will be represented by Fraser Cromarty, CEO of The Nairn Golf Club, is one of a number of UK companies exhibiting at the show with the help of a grant from the British Golf Industry Association (BGIA) in conjunction with UK Trade & Investment.

We, of course, are delighted to be going and continuing the work that has been undertaken over the years by HGL to position the Highlands as a leading golf destination.

As part of HGL, The Nairn Golf Club has seen the number of American visitors increase year-on-year and to-date we are 20 percent ahead of the same time in 2015, with the area ready to host a number of major events which will further promote our outstanding courses and hotels to an international audience.

Nairn, which hosted the Walker Cup in 1999 and the Curtis Cup in 2012, will be home to the 2016 Home Internationals competition, the premier amateur team event in Great Britain and Ireland. It will also be preparing to welcome the Boys Amateur Championship in 2017.

Excitement is already building and it is great to start the New Year and a new golfing season with Interest in golf in the Highlands on a high.
